Beware of Raging Hormones

Who knew this pregnancy thing wasn't going to be a walk in the park!
My emotions and hormones are out of control. Poor Stephen!
Everything makes me sick, and am even more grumpy and irritable when I am feeling sick. Sorry Stephen!

All I want is salt. GIVE ME THE SALT!!!!
Stephen is so wonderful he comes home with three grocery bags full of nothing but items containing loads of salt. Mixed Nuts, Cashews, Peanuts, Original Potato Chips, BBQ Chips, Crackers, Cheese-its...etc. I was in heaven.

The other night I was in bed before Stephen, happens a lot now that I can't stay up past 7:00, and he comes in to go to sleep. Lays down in bed and just gets comfortable when I scream,
"STOP IT! STOP IT! STOP IT!"
"What! What did I do?" asks Stephen.
Oops. I was dreaming and decided to yell out loud I guess. Still halfway asleep, I tried to apologize to Stephen, but I'm pretty sure my words made no sense.

Stephen is truly a wonderful man to put up with all my hormone raging emotions and still have a smile on his face.

Telling Parents

We had waited 4 days and Stephen was bursting at the seams wanting to tell people our good news. So, while we were at his parents house, he told his mother that we he had good news for her. Before he could tell her what it was, she screams,
"Melinda's Pregnant!"
Wow! We couldn't tell she was excited. She guessed what it was and was smiling ear to ear before we could tell her.

So then, the phone call to my parents.

Me: "Mom, would you prefer the name grandma or Nana?"

Mom: "Are you kidding me? Are you serious?"

Me: "Dad, would you prefer the name grandpa or Papa?"

Dad: "We'll alright! We got a honeymoon baby."

We are so very excited to be expecting. I will still be finishing up student teaching until May but am confident that I am capable of finishing school and being pregnant at the same time.
